Flouride – Do we need it?
To be frank, yes we do. Flouride helps with strengthening teeth and preventing tooth decay in young children. Most toothpastes and mouthwashes contain flouride for this very reason. Also for this reason most water treatment plants are instructed by the government to add flouride to our drinking water. The motive behind this is that there are members of the public who cannot afford proper dental care who will massively benefit from there being flouride in the drinking water.
The problem is that this constant exposure to flouride in both our drinking water and in our dental products can lead to health problems. I have listed these below:
Flouride is not bad for us if it is in small quantities. Too much of anything can become hazardous to one's health. If there is flouride in your dental products then it is best to not have it in your drinking water too. Flouride can easily be removed from your drinking water with a water filter which is easily fitted to your kitchen tap.
